Pour water over 1 cup oat and let sit for 20 minutes. Cream 1 stick butter with brown sugar, karo syrup and eggs. Add oats and mix well. Add flour, cinnamon, soda, and salt. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
Mix butter, brown sugar, milk, vanilla, coconut, and nuts in a bowl Pour over cake and place under broiler for 2-3 minutes.
