Prheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream butter with an electric mixer. Add 1/2 cup powdered sugar, vanilla, and flour. Add chopped pecans and mix together with a spoon. Form dough into 1 inch balls. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes...watch. Roll balls in powdered sugar while still hot from oven, then cool cookies on a rack... I use William Sonoma Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla
