Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour madeleine molds or use parchment paper on cookie sheet for free-form. Cream eggs, sugar and vanilla until pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

Mix flour and baking powder in separate bowl. Add half of flour to egg mixture and mix until incorporated. Add remaining flour.

|
Add lemon zest and butter. Make sure butter is completely cool before putting it in or it will curdle the eggs.

|
Fill molds 3/4 full or spoon about a tablespoon of batter on cookie sheet, leaving enough room in between because they spread. Bake about 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
