Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugars and shortening for 1
minute. Add the peanut butter, and beat for 2 more minutes until
light and fluffy. Add egg, water, and vanilla and beat until creamy.
Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt and add to creamed
mixture. Mix well, stir in oats and mixed goodies.
Drop by heaping teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Flatten
lightly (they don't spread much). Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12
minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for 5-10
minutes before removing to a rack to finish cooling.
