Using a medium saucepan,prepare enough uncooked rice to make 1 cup cooked rice,following package instructions.In a small saucepan, simmer the chocolate milk until it begins to steam,about 3 minutes. In a medium bowl,mix together the sugar,flour,salt,cinnamon,nutmeg and cloves with a wooden spoon.

Separate the egg yolks from the whites in a cup.Freeze the egg whites for another recipe.Place 4 to 5 tablespoons of the milk mixture in a small bowl.Allow it to cool slightly for about 2 minutes.Vigorously whisk the egg yolks into it.Whisk the egg mixture into the chocolate milk mixture in the double boiler.Cook on low heat,for about minutes,covered,stirring occasionally.Remove the double boiler from the heat.stir the rice with a fork and add the mixture in the double boiler.blend in the butter and vanilla.Cover again and set pudding aside to cool slightly,about 10 minutes. serve warm,or refrigerate and serve cold.
