     Horseshoe Cookies

Ingredients
2lb cream cheese
2 lb butter
10 cups flour
~Filling~
2 lb walnuts chopped fine
4 cups sugar
4 tablespoons warm milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
 

Instructions
This step you do ahead of time so the dough can firm up in the refrigerator at least overnight. Get butter and cream cheese to room temperature and put in mixer and blend until creamy. Slowly add flour and continue mixing on lower speed until all is added. Make walnut sized (or smaller) balls with all of the dough and place between wax paper and refrigerate for up to a week.
When you are ready to put the cookies together - Chop walnuts fine in food processor put in bowl, mix in sugar and cut in milk and vanilla
On a flowered surface roll out one ball at a time add tablespoon of walnut mixture fold over crimp all edges and make into crescent shape
Bake at 300 for 15 - 20 minutes When cool cover with powered sugar
Serving Suggestions
These are Santa's favorite - serve with milk and don't forget the carrots for the raindeer.
