     Chewy Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
3/4 C shortening
1 C brown sugar
1/4 C molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 C sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
 
1/2 tsp cloves
Instructions
preheat oven to 375. Cream together first 4 ingredients until fluffy. Mix in dry ingredients.
form dough into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes
