2 eggs

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 cup shortening, softened

1 cup coconut, shredded
|

1 cup nuts, chopped

1 tsp vanilla

2 cups flour
|

1/2 tsp salt
|

1 tsp baking soda
|

1 tsp baking powder
|

3 cups oatmeal
|

Instructions |

|
Beat eggs. Add sugars and softened shortening; mix well. Add coconut, nuts and vanilla
|

Mix flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Add to the first mixture.
|

|
Add oatmeal and mix thoroughly. Roll into small balls the size of walnuts. Press down with flowered fork tines crosswise.
|

|
Bake at 375 for 9 minutes. Makes 80.
