     Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ingredients
1 pkg pineapple or yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
1 c packed brown sugar
1 can 20 oz pineapple slices, drained
red marachino cherry halves, drained
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt butter in a 13x9x2 inch pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly in pan. Arrange pineapple slices on sugar. Put a cherry half in center of each slice.
Prepare cake as directed on package. Turn batter over fruit and spread evenly.
Bake 250 degrees for 43 to 48 minutes. Cake is done if toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes to set topping. Loosen cake from pan and turn upside down on platter.
