Beat eggs lightly, stir in sugar, vanilla and raisins.
Stir milk into rice.
Stir rice mixture into egg mixture.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Dot with butter.
Pour into 2 quart buttered casserole.
Place casserole into water pan
Stir after 1/2 hour of baking from the outside edge.
Bake uncovered 1 hr 25 mins. total.
Pudding is done when knife inserted in center comes out clean.
