     Dip, Onion from Scratch

Ingredients
2 T olive oil
1 1/2 c diced onions
1/4 t kosher salt
1 1/2 c sour cream
3/4 c mayonnaise
1/4 t garlic powder
1/4 t ground white pepper
1/2 t kosher salt
 

Instructions
In a saute pan over medium heat add oil, onion, and 1/4 t salt. Cook onions until they are carmelized about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Mix the rest of the ingredients and then add the cooled onions. Refrigerate and stir agin before serving.
It is wonderful. Will never buy the stuff from the store again.
