     Peanut Butter Cake & Frosting

Ingredients
1/2 c peanut butter morsels
2 c flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1/2 c butter, softened
1 1/4 c sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
 
1 1/2 c milk
1 c peanut butter morsels
1 8 oz cream cheese
1 t vanilla
1/4 t salt
3 c powdered sugar
2 T milk

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. Melt 1/2 c morsels over hot, not boiling water. Stir until smooth. Set aside. In bowl mix dry ingrdients. In another bowl, Beat sugar and butter until creamy. Blend in peanut butter morsels, add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Alternately add flour and milk. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8 inch cake pans. Bake until crust is golden brown, about 35-40 minutes. Cool in pans 10 minutes, and cool completely.
Melt peanut butter chips like you did for cake. Stir until smooth. In large bowl combine melted morsels, cream cheese, salt and vanilla. Beat in powdered sugar alternately with milk until spreading consistency.
Fill and frost cake. May also garnish with toasted coconut if desired.
This was Sidney's favorite when he was little. First tried in 1987.
