     Chocolate Cream Pie

Ingredients
1 1/3 cup sugar
12 T. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
6 T. cocoa
6 cups milk
6 egg yolks (well beaten). Save egg whites for meringue.
2 tsp. vanilla
4 T. margarine
1 (10 in.) baked pie shell
 
Meringue
6 egg whites
1 tsp. cream of tatar
1/3 c. sugar

Instructions
Combine dry ingredients. Mix well.
Slowly add milk, stirring constantly. Add well-beaten egg yolks.
Cook over a low heat, stirring constantly. Stir rapidly as it begins to thicken. Let boil 1 min. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and margarine.
Meringue- Put egg whites in a non-plastic bowl. Add cream of tartar. Beat until peaks form. Add sugar, part at a time. Beat until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue on top of hot filling. Bake at 350 for 10-15 min. (golden brown).
