2 c. flour (if you need extra add 1/4c. at a time)
Instructions
Beat butter and shortening on medium to high for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking pwd. and salt. Beat until well combined, scraping bowl.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in as much flour as you can with mixer. Stir in remaining flour.
Divide douch in half. If necessary, cover and chill dough for 3 hours until it's easy to handle.
On lighly floured surface, roll half dough at a time to 1/8 inch thick. Cut using 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter.
Place on un-greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 7-8 min or until the edges are firm and bottoms are lightly browned. Cook on rack.
