In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until ight and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk and water, beating well after each addition.
Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes.
Chocolate Ganache Frosting-
In a small saucepan, melt chocolate with cream over low heat, stir until blended. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until mixture reaches spreading consistency. Stirring occasionally. Frost cupcakes.
This cupcake recipe is incorporated with a recipe for Ganache Frosting, which tastes great together!!! But any other frosting recipe will do as well!
