Mix all ingredients in small sauce pan except for corn starch and bring to roaring boil.
Turn down eye and simmer for 5 minutes or so until all the oil has fused well. (Note- this will boil over very quickly if not watching it. Once it starts to simmer without boiling over it will be fine.)
Take off eye and let your boil stop.
Place your corn startch in glass bowl or cup and ladle some of your hot sauce into it to melt the cornstartch so it will not lump.
Once cornstartch is mixed well and you have no lumps add it back to the sauce and slow boil for another 5 minutes so it will thicken.
Cool and put in bottle. It will last for months in the fridge.
This sauce is good to baste ham, grilled pork chops, grilled chicken, grilled sausage, many things. It is also good warmed and just poured on top of meat. We like it better than BBQ sauce. Kids won't eat ham without it.
