Penne with Spicy Italian Sausage, Cream and Tomato

Ingredients
4 links spicy Italian sausage
1 pound dried penne
Extra virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, chopped
28 oz can crushed San Marzano tomatoes
1/4 c torn fresh basil leaves
Kosher salt and pepper
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 c grated Parmesan
fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. Place the sausages in a
roasting pan on roast for 15-20 minutes. Cut
sausages at an angle into bite-size pieces.
Cook pasta.
Saute onion and garlic in 2 tablespoons olive oil
until translucent. Add tomatoes and basil; season
with salt and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, then
fold in cream and continue to simmer until rich
and creamy. Add sausage and Parmesan. Fold
together and cook for 2-3 minutes.
