     Chocolate Covered Cherries

Ingredients
3 (8 oz) jars cherries (with stems)
2 (1 lb) bags melting chocolate
3 Tbl margarine or butter
3 Tbl light Karo syrup
2 1/2 c powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
 

Instructions
Drain cherries. Put on paper towels so they will dry.
Mix margarine, Karo syrup, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl. Knead mixture until mixture is like dough. Pinch pecan size portion off. Press flat. Put cherry in center. Pull dough towards stem. Completely cover cherry. Place in refrigerator for 2 hours.
Microwave melting chocolate according to package directions. Dip chilled cherries into chocolate and place on waxed paper to cool.
