     Yakitori

Ingredients
2 Pounds boneless, skiless chicken breasts
2 Dozen green onions
Marinade-
1/2 cup sake
1/2 cup soy souce
1 T fresh ginger
1 T sugar
Short bamboo skewers
 
Optional add to skewers-
Green pepper
Pineapple

Instructions
Marinade- Combine sake, soy sauce, ginger and sugar in a medium bowl and set aside cut chicken into 1 inch cubes, and add the marinade. Marinate the chicken in the fridge for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
In the meantime, trim the green onions and cut then into 1 1/2 inch pieces
Remove chicken from the marinade, reserving the liquid for basting. Alternately thread the chicken and green onions onto the skewers (about 3 each makes a nice size hors d'oeuvre, you can cover the ends of skewers with foil so they won't burn)
Place skewers on a broiler pan and broil, basting often and turning occasionally, until the chicken is just cooked through, about 6 min. Serve hot
