     Cinnamon Nut Cake

1/3 C soft butter
1 C sugar
2 eggs
1 C flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbl cinnamon
1/3 C milk
2/3 C broken nuts
1/2 an apple, shredded (optional)

Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour a square brownie pan (8x8x2). Mix butter, sugar, and eggs in mixing bowl. Beat 5 mins on high speed.
Blend flour, baking powder, and cinnamon together. Add to butter mixture in 3 parts alternating with the milk starting and ending with dry ingredients. Beat on low speed just until smooth; fold in nuts and optional apple. Pour in prepared pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. Frost with brown buttered icing.(recipe follows)

Brown 3 Tbl butter in saucepan over medium heat until delicately brown. Blend in 1 1/2 C sifted confectioner's sugar. Stir in 1 1/2 Tbl cream and 3/4 tsp vanilla until smooth
