     Sauerkraut Skillet

Ingredients
1 pound Ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup white rice
1 16 oz can sauerkraut
1 cup water
salt and pepper to taste
 

Instructions
Brown ground beef in skillet or pot that has a tight fitting cover. Drain off excess fat.
Add chopped onion and cook until slightly brown
Add rice, water, sauerkraut. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sauerkraut is very salty, so add salt carefully.
Bring to boil, reduce heat to low. Cover, and cook until rice is done. Adjust seasonings. Good the first day. Even better 2 or 3 days later.
