     Homestyle Macaroni & Cheese

Ingredients
1 lb elbow macaroni
1/4 cup butter
2 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups milk
4 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
 

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Coat a 9X13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Cook the macaroni according to the package directions; drain. Place half in the bottom of the baking dish.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour, salt, and pepper; stir to mix well. Gradually add the milk; bring to a boil and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups cheese over the macaroni in the baking dish and top with half of the white sauce. Repeat the layers once more then top with the remaining 1 cup cheese.
Bake for 35-40 mins, or until heated through and top is golden. Serve immediately.
