     Jewish Coffee Cake

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening, half butter
2 eggs
1/2 pt sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp soda
Pinch of salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup nuts, finely chopped.

Cream 1 cup sugar and shortening. Add Eggs, sour cream, vanilla, flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Beat until smooth.
Grease tube pan; pour half the cake batter into pan. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and nuts.
Sprinkle half the cinnamon mixture ove batter. Add remaining batter and filling.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
