     classic basil pesto

Ingredients
4 cups fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup pine nuts
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
 

Instructions
Add the basil, olive oil, pine nuts and garlic cloves to a blender or food processor and puree until a paste forms. You may have to scrape down the ingredients to ensure a good mix.
Add the cheese and salt and continue pureeing until smooth.
Chill slightly before serving.
