     HERMAN Sourdough Bread

Ingredients
1 cup HERMAN
1 egg, beaten
2/4 cup milk, heated
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3 to 4 cup flour
 

Instructions
Combine salt, sugar and oil. Add milk and stir. Add egg and dissolved yeast in the 1/4 cup warm water. Add HERMAN and 2 cups flour; stir. Add remaining flour until dough separates from bowl. Knead dough at least 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl; let rise until double in size.
Punch down ; shape into loaves. Let rise to top of the pan. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce to 350 for 2 minutes. Makes 2 small or 1 large loaf.
