     Easy Barbecue Sauce

Category   Sauces
Sub Category   None
Servings   2 cups
Preptime   10 minutes

Ingredients
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter or margerine
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup white or cider vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey (or more to taste)
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons prepared yellow mustard (like French's)
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce

Instructions
Saute onion in the butter until onion softens. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 10 minutes.
I make this in double and triple batches and freeze it in 1 cup portions. It is the base for my barbecued meatballs and the sauce I use for my barbecued beef brisket and baked barbecued ribs. Makes great sloppy joes when you brown 1 pound of ground beef, drain it, and add 1 cup of sauce and serve it on a bun.
Serving Suggestions
Brush on grilled meat the last 10 minutes to avoid burning the sauce.
