     Highland Toffee

Ingredients
1/3 cup melted shortening
2 cups oatmeal
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 pkg chocolate chips
Ground nuts
 

Instructions
Mix all but chocolate chips and nuts. Put in 8 inch greased pan. Bake 400 for 20 minutes.
While hot, put chocolate chips on top, cover, and allow to melt. Spread around and cover with chopped nuts.
