Measure 1 part raw rice for every two parts of cooked
rice desired ( 1 cup raw rice will make 2 cups cooked
rice).
Instructions
Wash the raw rice and spread it evenly in a cooking pot. Place the tip of your index finger on the top of the rice and add enough water so that the first knuckle is completely covered with water (approximately two cups water to one cup rice, but the first knuckle measurement is more accurate and more fun).
Add a lump of butter and bring it to a boil. Stir well, put the lid on the pot, turn the heat down as low as it will go, and leave the pot undisturbed for 20 minutes.
The rice will be perfect every time.
