     Tootsie's Barbecue

Ingredients
2 lbs boiling beef
1 lg bottle of catsup
1 green pepper
1 onion
2 TBS vinegar
2 TBS pickling spice
2 TBS sugar
2 TBS mustard
3/4 cup beef broth
 
Instructions
Boil beef and grind. Grind pepper and onion and mix with vinegar, sugar, mustard and beef broth. Put pickling spices in a small bag and cook with broth mixture until thick. Remove bag. Mix with meat.
This recipe is from the 1030's Klocke Clan. Cousin Harold's granddaughter, Mikki Klocke, in California. She notes that she remembers this recipe from a picnic in Freeport, Il. with her mother's cousins. This may have been Harold's mother who was married to one of Grampa's brothers. Just a guess.
