     Genessee Valley Apple Crumb Pie

Ingredients
2/3 c shortening
1 tsp salt
1/4 c boiling water
1.5 c flour
1/3 c butter
1/2 c sugar
3/4 c flour
6 apples, pared, cored, sliced
1/2 c sugar
 
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt

Instructions
Crust- Cream 2/3 c shortening with 1 tsp salt. Add boiling water and mix. Add 1.5 c flour. Press crust into 9 or 10-inch pie plate.
Filling- Fill crust with apples. Sprinkle 1/2 c sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, pinch of salt on apples.
Crumb Topping- Cream 1/3 c butter with 1/2 c sugar and 3/4 c flour. Spoon mixture on top of pie.
Bake at 450 for 10 minutes and then at 350 for 30 minutes.
