     Taffy Bars

Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups flour
 
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg. Mix in dry ingredients. Press mixture into greased 9x13 pan. Bake 15-20 minutes.
Frost with following immediately after removing from oven.
FROSTING- 1 cup sugar 3 Tablespoons cocoa 1/4 cup milk dash salt 1/4 cup butter 1 tsp vanilla
In saucepan bring to boil for 1 minute- sugar, cocoa, milk and salt. Add butter and vanilla. Stir until melted. Pour on hot bars.
