Drain and rinse beans,(reserve liquid).heat oil and add mushrooms, onions, carrot, celery and garlic and saute for 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes, sage, thyme, oregano, pepper and bay leaf. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes. Cook pasta and drain, don't overcook.
Combine reserved bean liquid with water to make 2 cups of liquid. Add the liquid, beans, and cooked pasta to vegetable mixture. Bring to a boil,cover and simmer until heated thoroughly.
