Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Line brownie pan with foil and butter the foil.
Melt 40 caramels with 1/4 cup cream over hot water.
Add 1/2 cup cashews. Add 1/2 tsp vanilla and a pinch of salt. Pour over baked brownies. Chill for one hour.
