1/4 cup maple syrup
1 TBSP grated orange peel

2-4 TBSP 10X sugar, optional

Instructions
In a large skillet over med. high heat, cook sausage and onion, stirring frequently until meat is finely crumbled an no longer pink and onion is tender; remove from heat. Stir in aples, raisins, spices, syrup and orange peel; add pine nuts if desired.
Unfold pastry sheets; cut each lengthwise into 3 equal strips, then cut each strip into 3 squares for a total of 9 squares per sheet. Press each square to enlarge slightly.
Place 1 slightly rounded tablespoon sausage mixture in the center of each square; brush edges of pastry with water. Fold dough over filling to create a triangle, pressing edges to seal. Place on baking sheet.
