     Whiskey River BBQ Burgers

6 slices cooked bacon, chopped (or equivalent precooked bacon)
2-3 tablespoons EVOO
2 yellow onions, 1/4 chopped finely, 1 3/4 thinly sliced
1- 1 1/2 pound ground sirloin/beef
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 tablesppon grill seasoning
4 crusty rolls
4 slices smoked gouda or cheddar cheese
1/4 cup steak sauce

Cook bacon with small amount of EVOO. Remove and chop bacon, drain fat from skillet. Return skillet to medium heat and add finely chopped onions, cooking for 2-3 minutes. Remove from pan and cool with bacon.
Add beef, worcestershire, hot sauce and grill seasoning to a bowl. Add bacon and onions to beef mixture and combine well. Cook burgers in skillet, George Forman grill, or on foil over BBQ grill for 4-6 minutes per side.
Placed nonstick skillet with 2 tablespoons of EVOO over medium heat. When oil is hot, add sliced onions and top with a plate that can fit inside the skillet. Top the plate with a heavy can and smother the onions for 10 minutes. Stir occassionally, but use caution, the plate will be hot. Stir in 1/4 cup of steak sauce with the onions.
Toast the rolls until golden. Place burgers on buns and top with cheese. Top with onions and additional steak or BBQ sauce as desired.
