Spray slow cooker with nonfat cooking spray. Rub all the sides of beef with the basil, thyme, and garlic salt. Place the beef tenderloin on the outer rim edge of the slow cooker. The center will be hollow.

Take 2 pieces of foil 18 inches long. Fold the seams together along the sides. Spray the foil with nonfat cooking spray. Place the diced potatoes in the center of the foil. Spread 2 tablespoons of the margarine over the frozen diced potatoes. Fold the foil (as you would a gift package) to seal in the flavor of the potatoes. Place the potatoes in the center of the slow cooker and beef.

Spray another 18 inches of foil with nonfat cooking spray. Place the mushrooms in the foil. Dab 1 tablespoon of fat-free margarine on top of the mushrooms. Sprinkle lightly with garlic salt, if desired. Fold the foil (as you would a gift package) to seal in the flavor. Place the mushrooms on top of the potatoes and beef.

Cover the cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Serve the juices in bottom of slow cooker on the side.
