simple syrup - bring to a boil 1 1/2c each of water and sugar till dissolved)
Make 2 cups simple syrup and add the lemon zest before you heat. Let cool hen pour into an ice filled pitcher, add in salt, lemon juice, water and lemon slices...let sit a few hours to chill and set before serving.
