     CARAMELIZED PECANS

Ingredients
1/2 c. butter
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 lb pecan halves
 

Instructions
Put butter in 9x13 pan in oven at 325º until it melts. Beat egg whites until real stiff. Beat in salt and sugar. Mix pecans in egg mixture and put in oven for about 20-30 minutes or until all egg whites are gone. Stir often. Take out and spread on wax paper to dry.
