Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   Camping

Ingredients

Instructions
Use a tasteless oil like Crisco or mineral oil. Thoroughly clean item to be seasoned. Lightly coat with shortening or oil bake at 350 for 1 hr. Let cool. Rinse with hot water while wiping any excess oil with soft rag. You can, after cooking, scour with table salt. Put table salt in pan and use a paper towel to scour surface. Repeat until surface is glossy and smooth. It is now seasoned!
Never use soap to clean a seasoned item. Just wipe clean after soaking in hot water. If you need to scour to clean use table salt method as mentioned above. After cleaning heat the pan to dry, never drip dry, that promotes rust. After dry, lightly coat with oil and wipe excess with paper towel and store. It's important not to let food stick and burn. Avoid cooking at very high temperatures as much as possible. Every now and then you will need to reseason.
