     Overnight French Toast

Ingredients
1 loaf soft french bread, sliced and cubed
8 oz. cream cheese
8 eggs
1 1/2 c milk, light cream or half and half
6 Tb melted butter
1/2 c pure maple syrup - the real stuff
dash of salt
 

Instructions
In a 9x13 dish, put 1/2 of the bread in the bottom and dot with cream cheese. put the rest of the bread of top. In a blender, put eggs, milk, melted butter, salt and syrup. Blend well and pour over bread, pushing any pieces down in the liquid that might pop up. Cover and put in refrigerator for 2-24 hours.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes depending on how brown you want.
Apple Syrup- 2 c. apple cider 1/2 c sugar 2 Tbs. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 Tbs. lemon juice 2 Tbs. butter
Put sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in small saucepan, mix well. Add cider. Heat and cook until thick. Add lemon juice and butter. Serve over toast.
Serving Suggestions
before baking, you could cover bread mixture with sliced apples and push them into the bread so they don't turn brown.
