Heat milk, add shortening, sugar & salt. Disolve yeast cakes in 4 Tbs luke warm water, add to mixture. Add 2 cups flour and beat throughly, cover and sit in warm place to rise 1 1/2 hours. Add enough flour to make a firm dough, knead on floured board until smooth and elastic to touch. Cover and sit in warm place until mixture rises to double in size. Knead again, roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with large round cutter. Brush each piece with melted butter, cut through center and fold over, place rolls in a greased shallow pan 1 inch apart, cover and place in warm place to rise double in size. Bake in 400 oven 15 to 20 min until light brown. Yields 30 rolls
