Cream butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, then add 4 yolks and 2 whites, mix well, add spices and baking powder, flour. Bake at 200C for about 20 until until golden brown in a baking sheet lined with waxed paper
While the base is chilling, beat 2 whites until soft peaks form, add 1 to 1.5 cups of sugar, until shiff peaks form
Spread the jam over the chilled cookie, then spread the egg whites and then sprinkle the walnuts over the egg whites, bake in a 175C oven for about 15-25 minutes until the whites are a bit brownish, dont over cook the egg whites, let the cookie chill completely to set before slicing, can be baked 3 days in advance, just keep in an air-tight container
