sift flour, 3T sugar, baking powder, and salt

Cut in shortening. Combine Egg and milk and add to dry ingredients. mix to a soft dough. spread dough in greased, shallow 8 inch square pan. place apples in dough in rows of overlapping slices.

mix remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. dot with butter.
|
|
|
|
bake 375 for 40-45 min. remove from over and pour maple syrup over top.
