Chop lettuce and spread in bottom of pyrex casserole dish. Layer remaining ingredients green onions, celery, and water chesnuts. Spread 2 C Mayonnaise (not salad dressing) over the layers and sprinkle with the following in order given- salt and pepper, sugar, green peas, mozzarella, and parmesan. Seal dish tightly with Saran wrap and store overnight in refrigerator. Just before serving, spread 1 C chopped tomatoes over the top.
