     Blue Ribbon Pound Cake

Ingredients
4 C sifted Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
3 C Sugar
6 lrg Eggs (room temp)
2 tsp Lemon or Vanilla or 1 of each
1 tsp Baking Powder
Pinch Ground Nutmeg
2 C Unsalted Butter (room temp)
1 C Milk (room temp)
 

Instructions
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg set aside. Cream butter until light and fluffy; ass sugar gradually. Add eggs one at a time beating after each. Combine milk and flavorings. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Pour into a well buttered and floured 10inch tube pan filling to within 2inch of top. Spoon remaining batter into loaf pan. Bake in a slow oven 300 degrees for 1 hr 20 min or until leave a print that vanishes slowly. Bundt (tube) cake takes about 1hr 10min and loaf 45min.
