Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup shortening
2 egg yolks
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 beaten egg whites
1/2 cup nuts, chopped finely
 

Instructions
In food processor, blend sugar and shortening. Add egg yolks and vanilla.
Sift flour and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Chill for 1 hour.
Roll into small balls and depress center with handle of wooden spoon.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes - until golden brown. Optional- Dip in beaten egg whites and dip into ground nuts. Fill depression with spoonful of powdered sugar icing.
