Mix first 8 ingredients. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes in a greased 8x8 pan. Cool completely.

Mix powdered sugar, milk(add by teaspoonful if you need more), butter, peppermint extract and red food coloring(enough to make pink) until light and fluffy. Smooth over cooled brownies and refrigerate while doing step 3.

Melt butter and choc chips in microwave, cooking in 15 second intervals and stirring after each cycle. Allow to cool briefly, then drizzle and smooth over pink layer.

|
Sprinkle candy cane pieces(I use a coffee grinder to make something that resembles pink sugar, but coarser chopped pieces is okay) over chocolate. Refrigerate leftovers.
