Preheat oven to 400°F. Cream butter and brown sugar. Sift
together flour, baking soda, and salt and add to creamed mixture.
Stir in rolled oats.
Press half of mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 pan and
spread with preserves. Cover with the remaining of the mixture.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake for 25 minutes.
