     Oatmeal cookies

Ingredients
3/4 c vegetable shortening
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c water
1 t vanilla
3 c oats
1 c flour
1 t salt
1/2 t baking soda
 
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla until creamy. Add combined remaining ingredients. Mix well.
Drop spoonfuls of dough onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12- 15 minutes.
