For caramelized onions-
In medium skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion,
sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook stirring frequently until onion is
browned, about 15 minutes. Stir in water and scrape pan.
For burgers-
In medium bowl. combine ground beef, egg, salt, and pepper.
Shape into 24 very thin patties. Place 1 cube blue cheese on 12 of
the patties.
Cover patties with cheese with remaining patties; seal edges. Place
on grid over medium coals and grill to internal temperature of
155°F, about 4 minutes per side. Serve with caramelized onions on
toasted bun.
